B.B. King @ The Moore
by Darin Münch
I got a chance to see one of the great Kings at Seattle's Moore Theater! At 88, B.B.'s definitely showing his age, but the man brought a hell of a band who put on a hell of a blues show. I even managed to capture a clip of a crazy-funky bass solo. Behold!

Meet Finley, my new roommate! I named him after a special dog Puyallup...
"Brinstar," Orchestrated
by Darin Münch
Found this eerie gem whilst digging through a collection of my old audio editing experiments. This is the original "Brinstar" theme from Metroid layered onto a live 2002 orchestral performance of the song by the New Japan Philharmonic. I adjusted the fluctuating tempo of the symphony to match up with the creepy game music, then I added some fun digital SFX and a dash of reverb for good measure. Enjoy!
Old-time Ivories
by Darin Münch
Here's a really nice laid-back piano jazz piece I put together a long time ago in a sort-of Django style. This one is easygoing, but it's also a bit adventurous with some interesting chord twists and meandering solos. Try it with a dry Manhattan!
Imagination
by Darin Münch
Here's my 2004 funk-R&B adaptation of a(nother) piece written by Carol Burleson. This dark, moody, Al Green-style groove is dreamy & gritty yet buoyant & upbeat. A nice sparse cut here with a light tambourine in the chorus for effect. Love & Happiness!
Ambulance Caught in Traffic
by Darin Münch
This strange little "rock" opus was one of the first things I did after moving to Seattle in 2005. Without a live studio, I had to make do with a tiny brush junk kit and an old synth filled with crude orchestra samples. I ended up with some sort of bizarre Philip Glass-Metroid hybrid, but something about it all makes me smile. The ambulance in the intro was actually caught in traffic while I was recording the drums, making me rather nervous!
