Westkey Nonpareil
by Darin Münch
Here's a meditative little piano composition I put together after listening to the haunting soundtrack composed by Gustavo Santaolalla for the film Babel. This one ended up part Philip Glass and part Debussy, particularly in the second half with its suspended chord clusters. I intended to turn this snippet into a longer sonata, but I may have to leave it as is for now!
Features live upright piano and a touch of silvery reverb. This would work great in a drama or maybe even an eccentric animation, depending on how you interpret it.
