My Mighty MIDI, 1998
by Darin Münch
To complement my glorious Twitter debut, here's my first-ever (surviving!) MIDI orchestration written way back in 1998 on an old black-and-white Macintosh. Enjoy!
This energetic Quicktime symphony features a noble string intro followed by a cheering Gladiator-style verse. A gentle, eerie, bell-and-pizzicato movement follows before timpanis & woodwinds usher in a big finale in all their vintage MIDI glory. I'm leaving the crude original mix untouched for the sake of nostalgia. :-)
INSTRUMENTATION: Features Quicktime MIDI suite including symphony strings, trumpets, clarinet, flute, glockenspiel, percussion, SFX, and grand piano. Great pick to establish a quirky, old-school vibe in the vein of games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, or Castlevania!
