Garageband WTF
by Darin Münch
*This short clip is part of my Slew of Snippets series.
I probably shouldn't post this crude thing, but what the heck! This was the first "song" I made on Garageband when the app was first released in 2004. It's also the first "song" I made on a full 88-key keyboard after a decade of point-and-click MIDI sequencing with ancient software.
This jazz-rock "fusion" improv is energetic, poppy, and (sorta) reminiscent of Weather Report and Jaco Pastorius. A rhythmic, quick-paced bass guitar seeks a syncopated funk with a drum kit and keyboard. This is what it is!
